C4EU: Chinese for Europeans

The Project „Chinese 4 Europeans” addresses the needs resulting from bilateral relationships between EU and China.According to the Eurostat, each year the volume of import and export between the two partners is increasing. The number of European students and tourists visiting China is also growing systematically. The project will directly respond to the growing demand for educational materials concerning Chinese, in the form of profiled courses for entrepreneurs, tourists, students and children.

The Project results will comprise five modules containing materials at A1 level (according to the Common European Framework for Languages) and translated into 23 official EU languages.

The project"Chinese for Europeans" aims at: bringing the Chinese language and culture closer to the representatives of various age groups from all EU Member States; promoting the idea of Lifelong Learning; promoting the intercultural dialogue; implementing innovative methodologies and ICT tools in the field of Lifelong Learning; improving the linguistic and intercultural competences of the project end users.

Specific objectives of the project are: providing free and easily accessible educational materials for Europeans traveling to China for personal, professional, educational or tourist reasons; facilitating contacts between the citizens of EU Member States and Chinese immigrants; enhancing the motivation and learning capacity of Europeans to enable them to face the challenge of learning Chinese.

C4EU 2nd partners meeting, 19-20 March 2012, Milan, Italy

The second project partners meeting took place in Milan, Italy on 19-20 March 2012. The partners from Lithuania, Poland, Belgium, Germany and Italy attended the meeting.

 During the meeting the partners presented the progress on the development of the modules of Chinese Language they are responsible for (SIH  is responsible for the coordination of the development of the content for the Module 0 “Basic Language Skills”), discussed the necessary improvements, agreed on the further steps of project implementation, as well as dissemination and exploitation of project results.

 Then partners were introduced to the E-learning platform ideas developed by EduActive, proceeded to discussing dissemination, exploitation and financial issues.

SIH at the meeting was represented by director Daiva Malinauskiene and project coordinator Gileta Kieriene.

The 3^rd project meeting will take place in Vilnius, LT on the 4-5^th June, 2012

The project kick-off meeting took place in Warsaw, Poland on 5-6 December 2011. The partners from Lithuania (SIH),  Poland (Mescomp, EduActive), Belgium ((UAMS), Germany (ICC), and Italy (Fondazione Italia Cina) attended the meeting.
