On March 23, 30 and April 6 SIH implemented a set of three trainings for representatives of migrant communities. During the trainings the Romanian, Belarusian, German, Ukrainian, Armenian, Pro African and Turkish communities were represented.

SIH director and the project coordinator Daiva Malinauskiene opened the trainings with the detailed presentation on the project, and introduced participants into the trainings.

The training continued with the ice-breaking activities demonstrated by SIH English and French teacher Ausra Nakas followed by active involvement of participants.

SIH project coordinator Gileta Kieriene closed the first session with the practical demonstration of project web portal and explanation on how it will be adopted to the needs of the target groups so that after the end date of the project’s activities it could serve as a tool to be used as a database of useful information on financial issues with links to advisory or other support organizations, learning materials, and other useful information.

During the other two sessions the representatives of the migrant communities participated in the activities and exercises to develop basic language skills in relation to the topics “Social benefits”, “Opening a Bank Account”, “Money Transfer and Exchange”, “Payment for Utilities”, “Job related information”, “Negotiate payments for accommodation”, “Report the loss or theft of a credit card” and “Applying for a loan” using Drama and Theatre methods, and practiced to facilitate similar activities themselves under the supervision of Violeta (SIH project coordinator and English teacher) and Ausra (SIH English and French teacher).

The participants were provided with the handouts and lists of terms and useful phrases related to the topics they would be using to support the training of final beneficiaries.

Then followed the evaluation and feedback, all participants received the certificates of successful completion of the course.
